Gonzalo Navarro

DIRECTOR

With more than 25 years of experience, Gonzalo has focused his practice on technology and internet matters, including OTT and telecommunications regulation, personal data, fintech, e-commerce, digital tax, internet infrastructure, content regulation, streaming platforms, cloud services, consumer protection, domain names, IP numbering and intellectual property.

In the technology field, Gonzalo was Vice President for Latin America of the IPXO IP Address Marketplace, and Senior Manager of regulatory policy for Latin America at Amazon Inc.

Previously, he served as Executive Director of the Latin American Internet Association (ALAI), an entity in charge of representing companies that provide services in the region, leading the Digital Commerce Working Group for the IDB’s Business Dialogue for the Americas. He was also a member of the board of ICANN (2009-2015), the entity that manages the domain name system worldwide.

In the public sphere, Gonzalo was Chief of Staff of the National Institute of Intellectual Property of Chile, INAPI, and member of the International Department of the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications of Chile, participating in that function in the implementation of public policies derived from international processes and in the negotiation of the chapters of Intellectual Property and telecommunications for several Free Trade Agreements (including USA-Chile). He also represented Chile before the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the Internet Governance Forum, CITEL and APEC TEL.
