Cristián Reyes served as Head of the Legal and Litigation Divisions of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) from 2009 to 2012. He joined the agency in 2003 and took part in investigations, proceedings and merger control cases before the Free Competition Defense Court (TDLC) and the Supreme Court.
He subsequently served as senior associate and partner at various law firms specializing in regulation, antitrust, compliance and complex litigation.
He has taken part in landmark antitrust cases involving the pharmacy, poultry, tissue paper, shipping and bus markets. He has also been involved in matters relating to cryptocurrencies, radio spectrum, mobile virtual network operators, tobacco, matches, the D&S-Falabella merger, and the Tianqi case concerning the lithium market.
He is a permanent collaborator to the Centro de Libre Competencia UC (UC Competition Law Center) and a member of the Competition Law Committee of the Colegio de Abogados de Chile A.G. (Chilean Bar Association). He teaches courses and postgraduate diploma programs on antitrust, compliance, telecommunications, digital transformation and regulated markets.
