Guadalupe Orrego

DIRECTOR

With more than 18 years of experience, during her professional career she has specialized in providing legal advice to publicly traded companies, mainly in Corporate, Finance, Tax and Energy Law, in roles of external counsel as well as in-house counsel.

Previously, she worked at AES Andes S.A., in charge of the management of its administrative bodies. In France, she worked as a lawyer at Engie Global Markets mainly in international negotiations of framework contracts such as ISDA and EFET on various products and their derivatives within Europe. She was a visiting lawyer at Dechert LLP; Paris in international arbitration matters.

She started her professional career at Prieto Abogados and later at ENGIE Energía Chile S.A., in contractual and corporate governance matters. 

In the public sector, Guadalupe headed the Legal Division of the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, where she participated in the operation of the Office of Major Projects, promoted initiatives to modernize the State such as strengthening the use of the single password and electronic signature, a bill to allow digital procedures in the one-day business system, among others. She also served as Coordinator of the Legal-Legislative Division of the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency, participating in the drafting of bills and their discussion in Congress, mainly the Law of Digital Transformation of the State.

She worked as director of Sercotec, the Data Observatory Foundation and was spokesperson for the Chilean delegation at UNCITRAL regarding annotations to the model law on electronic signatures. Additionally, she participated as a consultant for the Government Laboratory of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in pilot projects implemented in Latin American countries to apply the Unesco tool of Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence.
